Position Overview

The Operations Planner is responsible for managing operational jobs end-to-end — from feasibility validation and cost control through execution and final closure.

This role ensures that all shipments and jobs are delivered profitably, predictably, and with controlled risk, while reducing operational firefighting and strengthening planning discipline.

Key ResponsibilitiesJob Planning & Feasibility

• Own jobs from handover through execution and closure
• Conduct full feasibility checks (routing, capacity, customs, warehousing, timing)
• Validate scope and challenge unclear or risky commitments
• Build structured execution plans with milestones, risks, and dependencies

Cost Control & Commercial Awareness

• Review and validate job costs before execution
• Identify financial risks early and escalate when required
• Support sales and management with operational input

Supplier Coordination

• Coordinate with carriers, transporters, warehouses, and customs agents
• Ensure clear instructions and timely confirmations
• Manage supplier performance and prevent disruptions

Execution Management

• Track shipment progress and execution milestones
• Adjust plans proactively to improve cost, timing, and efficiency
• Keep stakeholders informed with accurate updates

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready job files
• Ensure proper documentation for commercial, shipping, customs, and transport processes

Issue Management & Escalation

• Identify risks, delays, and commercial issues early
• Raise structured escalations with clear analysis and recommendations
• Ensure disputes are tracked and resolved properly

Team Support

• Guide junior planners and support onboarding
• Share best practices and improve team execution quality

Billing & Job Closure

• Ensure all billable items are captured correctly
• Support accounts with accurate job information
• Close jobs with no pending operational gaps

Continuous Improvement

• Review completed jobs to identify improvements
• Reduce recurring issues through better planning
• Contribute to process and SOP improvements

Requirements

• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations
• Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes
• Good commercial awareness and cost control ability
• Strong problem-solving and planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple operational tasks
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams preferred
