Join Collins Aerospace as a Quality Engineering Intern and dive into hands-on problem-solving within our Electric Power Systems Business Unit in Rockford, Illinois. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in quality management, project management, and engineering solutions while supporting daily production operations and addressing real-world challenges.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving for production issues.

• Interpret engineering drawings to help identify and address production problems.

• Design engineering countermeasures such as tools and fixtures to improve assembly processes.

• Manage projects to implement solutions and enhance production quality.

• Communicate project status and updates to various levels within the organization.

• Collaborate with other Quality groups to resolve customer issues and implement effective solutions.

What You Will Learn:

• Techniques for leading root cause analysis and problem-solving in a production environment.

• Skills in interpreting engineering drawings and designing effective countermeasures.

• Project management strategies for implementing quality solutions.

• Methods for effective communication of project status to different organizational levels.

• Insights into working with Quality groups to address and solve customer issues.

• Development of process control plans and quality management practices.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and the student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience in a technical or engineering environment.

• Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and designing engineering solutions.

• Experience or coursework in project management and communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
