Join Collins Aerospace as a Quality Engineering Intern and dive into hands-on problem-solving within our Electric Power Systems Business Unit in Rockford, Illinois. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in quality management, project management, and engineering solutions while supporting daily production operations and addressing real-world challenges.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving for production issues.
Interpret engineering drawings to help identify and address production problems.
Design engineering countermeasures such as tools and fixtures to improve assembly processes.
Manage projects to implement solutions and enhance production quality.
Communicate project status and updates to various levels within the organization.
Collaborate with other Quality groups to resolve customer issues and implement effective solutions.
What You Will Learn:
Techniques for leading root cause analysis and problem-solving in a production environment.
Skills in interpreting engineering drawings and designing effective countermeasures.
Project management strategies for implementing quality solutions.
Methods for effective communication of project status to different organizational levels.
Insights into working with Quality groups to address and solve customer issues.
Development of process control plans and quality management practices.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and the student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience in a technical or engineering environment.
Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and designing engineering solutions.
Experience or coursework in project management and communication skills.
