The Operations & Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's fruit production, supply chain, and sales functions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of managing teams, optimising processes, and driving revenue growth through strong customer relationships and effective marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and revenue
- Manage key customer accounts and build long-term relationships with clients and partners
- Identify new market opportunities (local and international) and lead business development efforts
- Oversee marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand positioning
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to guide decision-making
Operations & Supply Chain:
- Coordinate with production, packaging, and logistics teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of products
- Optimise inventory, procurement, and distribution processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and agricultural regulations
- Manage daily operations at packing facilities, cold storage units, and distribution points
Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead, train, and motivate cross-functional teams across operations and sales
- Set performance goals and KPIs, and monitor team progress
- Foster a positive and results-driven work environment
Financial & Reporting:
- Prepare budgets, sales forecasts, and operational reports
- Analyse sales data and operational metrics to inform strategic decisions
- Report performance to senior management and recommend improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in operations and/or sales management, preferably in the fresh produce or agribusiness sector
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP, CRM, or supply chain software is an advantage
- Knowledge of export regulations and international trade (if applicable)
