Operations Senior Department Manager

Job Brief (Purpose):

The AML Learning & Quality Assurance Oversight Manager reports directly to the Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Learning & Quality Director. This individual is accountable for overseeing the AML Learning department, which facilitates AML/Due Diligence Investigations training through new hire onboarding, specialized support training, and ongoing workflow-specific education. Additionally, the role manages the Quality Assurance Program for CIU/CIP and OFAC Operations, supporting post-Quality Control reviews to identify operational gaps throughout end-to-end processes. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional communication abilities, demonstrate proficiency in developing and implementing robust controls, and produce comprehensive reports to keep senior leadership apprised of opportunities and areas for improvement. This position seeks a proactive professional dedicated to advancing compliance and operational excellence across both training and operations.

Essential Job Functions:

AML/DD Learning:

• Lead the development and delivery of AML/Due Diligence onboarding training programs, role-specific training, and ongoing reinforcement training. This entails managing several training resources who carry out the delivery of the Training program.
• Ensure training content reflects current regulatory requirements, internal policies, and emerging financial crime trends.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to design engaging, effective learning experiences tailored to various AML functions.
• Act as a central liaison for cross-functional collaboration and innovation across QC and Training teams, fostering partnerships across departments to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and implement forward-thinking solutions.
• Further develop training metrics and reporting; at the individual trainer level as well as department metrics to be shared with business partners and senior leadership.

Quality Assurance:

• Solid knowledge of KeyBank’s CIU processes, OFAC Operations, banking regulations, regulatory expectations, and risks.
• Lead the development and delivery of Quality Assurance reviews for CIU/CIP Operations and OFAC Operations/Governance. QA reviews are a post Quality Control (QC) review to ensure internal policies are met, ensure regulatory requirements are met, and risk mitigation occurred.
• Develop comprehensive reporting mechanisms and implement effective controls
• Develop a regular meeting schedule with senior leadership and business partners to review identified operational gaps, risks, opportunities, and efficiencies pertaining to the reporting mechanisms referenced above.
• Establish metrics for individual performance expectations of the QA analysts within the organization

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law, Finance, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in AML, financial crimes compliance, or risk management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• ACAMS and/or ACFCS certification(s) desired
• Deep knowledge of CIP, KYC/Due Diligence, AML regulations including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements
• Proven experience managing financial crimes, investigations or quality control programs and/or training functions in a regulated environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Exceptional ability to work across departments and business units/entities to ensure compliance requirements are understood and met

As a result, this role may be mobile or home based, which means you may work either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties. If located near a KeyBank location, the position in the future may work partially from a Key facility. If not located near a Key facility, team will consider remote workers.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
