Operations Specialist

Role Description

The incumbent is responsible for managing ocean freight files for exports and imports from order receipt through to shipment or delivery, including daily monitoring of bookings, documentation, and critical deadlines, as well as coordinating with shipping lines, agents, and clients. The incumbent is also expected to resolve complex operational issues, minimize documentation errors, mentor less experienced staff, and escalate issues that impact time, cost, or customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a shipping agency or international freight forwarding company, with solid exposure to import and export (especially sea freight).
• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend improvements
• Exceptional Communication and collaboration skills for effective interaction with teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of Sales operations and the ability to support sales teams effectively
• Experience in Operations Management to oversee and enhance workflows
• Project Management skills for planning and executing initiatives successfully
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field is preferred
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
