Operations Supervisor

Position Overview

Trash Kans is seeking a strong, motivated Operations Supervisor to lead daily field operations and support our commitment to safety, service excellence, and employee development. This leadership role is responsible for supervising drivers, ensuring efficient route execution, maintaining safety standards, and delivering outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and is committed to developing employees while maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership

• Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures
• Conduct safety meetings, field observations, and driver coaching
• Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with safety requirements
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety concerns
• Identify and implement safety improvements

Operations Management

• Oversee daily route execution to ensure safe, efficient, and timely service
• Monitor service quality and address missed stops or service issues
• Coordinate with dispatch and maintenance to ensure operational readiness
• Manage staffing, equipment availability, and route efficiency
• Review operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement

Employee Leadership & Development

• Supervise, coach, and support drivers and field personnel
• Train and onboard new employees
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Promote a positive, accountable, and professional work environment

Customer Service & Issue Resolution

• Respond to and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Work to prevent recurring service issues
• Partner with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete accident reports, performance documentation, and operational records
• Maintain accurate operational and compliance documentation
• Communicate operational updates and concerns to leadership

Qualifications

Required:

• Supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment
• Strong organizational and decision-making abilities
• Valid CDL driver’s license

Preferred:

• Experience in waste industry, transportation, logistics, or related field
• Experience supervising drivers or field personnel
• Knowledge of DOT and safety regulations

Work Environment & Schedule

• Field-based leadership role with daily outdoor and operational presence
• Full-time position with flexibility required to support operational needs
• Extended hours may be required based on operational demands
