Role Overview: The work involves responsibility for collecting fees and tickets from patrons using the parking vicinity. The work involves collecting money, making change and for the accountability of parking fees collected. The incumbent is also responsible for the general maintenance of the ticket booth and/or parking vicinity including cleaning, sweeping and related maintenance activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Retrieves parking tickets from person departing the parking garage and collects fees and/or monthly permits.
· Provides general information related to the parking vicinity to patrons using the place regarding rules, regulations and fee schedules.
· Makes general calculations of hours for patrons whose vehicles are parked in the vicinity and calculates amounts due, collects fees due and makes change.
· Provides receipts for parking stickers.
· Prepares report of daily receipts, balances total and makes deposit in the Office.
· Maintains a written log of monthly permit holders.
· Prepares vicinity to be opened to public in morning by doing general clean-up and starting ticket machines.
· Provide operational support to the Car Parking Supervisor.
· To perform daily checks as required to pay and display machines.
· To undertake basic maintenance and carry out minor repairs on site such as ticket replenishment, clearing coin jams etc.
· Reporting of all serious faults to the Car Park Supervisor.
· To perform daily opening and closing procedures for the entrance and exit gates to each car park as required.
· Daily collection and transport of cash.
· Issuing Penalty Charge Notices as appropriate.
· Provide a point of contact for the general public and ensure that a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.
· Help to resolve any difficulties and disputes which may arise in a calm and efficient manner.
· Advising the public about the car parking regulations pertaining to state.
· To ensure that we meet our sustainability goals and identify opportunities for improvement in this area.
· Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of the parking system and assist in improving the services offered by the company. To act as liaison with emergency services as required.
· Maintain effective communication with all members of the Car Parking team.
· Keep Car Parks tidy and clear of rubbish at all times.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Intermediate or bachelor.
· Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Skills & Competencies:
· Working knowledge of receipting vehicle parking tickets, and the fees for the parking vicinity.
· Ability to make change from and account for money collected for parking tickets.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally.
· Ability to get along well with others and to deal effectively with the public.
· Ability to maintain simple records and reports related to the car parking.
