Virginia Pediatric Eye Center is a busy pediatric ophthalmology/optometry practice with a offices in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. We are looking for qualified applicants who enjoy working with children and have experience working as an Ophthalmic Scribe. Excellent computer skills and writing skills are required, specifically including spelling, punctuation, and the ability to learn and use medical terminology.

Knowledge of exam flow, contact lenses and specialty testing, such as visual fields, OCT and imaging are a plus. Applicants should have knowledge of basic ophthalmic anatomy and terminology, ability to establish rapport with children and their parents, experience using EMR's, and a strong work ethic.

In addition to inputting information to our medical records software, the ideal scribe candidate will be willing to train and perform specific patient-care skills, including instilling dilating drops for pediatric patients.

Benefits include paid vacation and sick time, 401K, and health/dental insurance. Position could be full-time or part-time. Background check is required. Salary is dependent upon experience.

Recent college grads, particularly pre-med students, will be considered. However, this is a permanent position, not a summer job. Candidates will need to be able to commit to at least one year of employment.
