Job Summary

Duties
- Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical documentation
- Assist ophthalmologists with preparing for surgical procedures by coordinating schedules and verifying patient information
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems to maintain organized, up-to-date patient files
- Support the medical team by verifying patient demographics, insurance information, and consent forms prior to procedures
- Facilitate communication between patients, surgeons, and staff to ensure clarity of instructions and appointment details
- Maintain precise records of surgical cases, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up notes
- Demonstrate physiology and anatomy knowledge to accurately document complex ophthalmic conditions and procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience in a Medical office setting or healthcare environment preferred, especially within ophthalmology.
- Strong transcription skills with the ability to quickly and accurately convert spoken notes into written documentation
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and record management
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic procedures to support accurate documentation
- Excellent typing skills with high speed and accuracy to keep pace with clinical workflows
- Experience with medical records management, including maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating attention to detail and organizational skills
