Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking Ophthalmologist – Retina Specialist to join our staff. Visa Sponsorship Available.

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health care system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school- based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

The retina specialist would be based in Cooperstown, NY with very limited outreach responsibilities. This is a vibrant and sophisticated upstate community set in a beautiful lake front village affording four seasons of cultural and outdoor activity. An unparalleled and well-appointed community sport center and excellent public school system.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Join an established group of 4 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists.
The candidate will be a second retina specialist.
Currently there are specialists in medical retina, pediatrics and glaucoma
The support staff is well trained and experienced in both the clinic and operating room
On call is every 5th weekend and rarely busy
Opportunities exist for both research and teaching if interested
Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established
Salary Range: $358,000- $598,970 plus performance based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.
Fellowship stipend up to $40,000 available up to 18 months prior to graduation
Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000
