Optician

Hello to all!

We are looking for a full-time optician. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent customer service skills to help guide patients to finding their perfect eye wear fit!

Responsibilities:

- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customers' needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescriptions and optimal patient care

Skills:

- Senior care: Ability to provide exceptional service to elderly patients, including patience, empathy, and understanding of their unique needs
- Medical billing: Knowledge of medical billing procedures and ability to accurately process insurance claims for eyewear purchases
- Medical terminology: Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye health and vision correction
- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye to effectively communicate with patients about their eye health
- Medical coding: Proficiency in assigning appropriate medical codes for insurance purposes
- Retail math: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to pricing, discounts, and sales transactions
- Aseptic technique: Adherence to sterile procedures when handling contact lenses or performing eye exams
- HIPAA: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Laboratory: Experience with laboratory procedures such as lens cutting, edging, and tinting
- Sales: Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the value of different eyewear options to customers

Note: Prior experience as an optician is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
