The Research Scientist conducts research projects investigating fundamental scientific and conceptual problems to break new ground which could lead to new inventions, new or enhanced products, or new business or market opportunities through disruptive and innovative solutions. Creates a substantial competitive advantage by generating company's intellectual property.
- Conducting groundbreaking research on optical telecommunication systems.
- Presenting research findings through papers and presentations for both internal teams and the external scientific community.
- Collaborating with other researchers across the global Nokia Bell Labs team and with external academic partners.
- Contributing to the development of intellectual property and Nokia's patent portfolio.
Must Haves:
- A PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong record of disruptive research, demonstrated through scientific publications and/or patents.
- Proven expertise in high-speed communication systems.
- Hands-on lab experience with relevant equipment and proficiency in simulation software.
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab, or C/C++).
- Ability to define and pursue a research program in collaboration with a larger team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
