Optometric Receptionist/Assistant -Entry Level

COMPENSATION: Starting compensation based on relevant experience with opportunities for advancement during training period.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate. Must be available to work Saturdays. SPANISH SPEAKER PREFERRED.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to move at a brisk pace from room to room and remain on your feet long periods at a time.
• Must be able to remain stationary for extended period of time at desk and working on computer.
• Must have the visual acuity to discern small details on instruments and displays and to operate instruments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing exam equipment and instruments for the doctors.
• Performing appropriate preliminary tests.
• Ensuring patients' concerns are addressed and that patients receive exceptional care.
• Greeting and checking patients in.
• Answering phones.
• Scheduling appointments.
• Checking insurance information.
• Educating patient on proper contact lens care and replacement.
• Training new contact lens wearers.
• Checking patients out and taking payment.
• Manage contact lens inventory.
• Upkeep of common area.
• Must be available to work during peak season, typically mid March, end of July to beginning of August and last 2 weeks of the year.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
