JOB RESPONSIBILITY OF OPTOMETRIST

1. Take History of the Patient.

2. To ensure proper vision check has been achieved both physically, manually & using advanced technology to get the best result & diagnose on the optical condition of an individual.

3. Maintain records & document of individual patient readings.

4. Ensures to keep all the gadgets, neat & clean, infection free at all times

5. Gives feedback to CONSULTANT DOCTOR.

6. Liaisons to discuss patients condition with CONSULTANT

WORK INSTRUCTION & ACTIVITY

1. Ensures to receive the patient with warmth & smile & takes proper history & reading of patient vision.

2. Be a good listener & take vital information from the patient on symptoms, problems & previous diagnosis & present eye condition.

3. Recommend the same as feedback to consultant doctors & patients.

4. Records vision power & provides contact lens as per the doctor’s advice or suggest for variety of contact lens as per the vision power.

5. Liaison with the consultant doctor for needful discussions regard to patient vision condition.

6. Ensures to takes precaution when dealing with suspected infected cases.

7. Ensures to clean equipment & utilities with disinfectant & disposes materials used as per BMW guidelines.

8. Uses Vision charts trial lens, gazettes for record & document the same. Ensures to be critical in judging the right nearest reading suitable to patient as per the guidelines issued by the certified body.

9. Ensures to clean the equipment thoroughly & also after every patient inspection. In case of infected cases clean equipment & use alternative equipment during that time.

10. Suggest and advice the available option for normal vision comfortable to the patient Ex: Contact Lens, Lasik, cataract specks etc.,

11. Arrange to procure contact lens & spectacles as per the requirement or co-ordinate to send the patient to the optical shop.

12. Conduct the following eye examination as per the request of the ophthalmologist.

· Fundus Photo

· IOL master

· Biometry

· Visual field

· OCT

13. Maintain a log of patient entries & their reading

14. Inform consultant doctor of the diagnostic test & reading for further evaluation & advice.

15. Ensure to handle all equipments with care & ease.

16. Always wear dress as per the uniform code suggested along with the apron. 17.Ensures to keep his hand sterile after every patient evaluation.

18. Uses hand disinfectant regularly.

19. Ensure to add data of readying & finding of every patient in the HMS.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Internship
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
