Job purpose

Drive the activities for IT Telecoms Management, under the delegation authority from Manager IT Operations, acting as the owner of IT Telecoms infrastructure and operation standards, by leading, planning, executing, and controlling all activities related to Telecoms Management, Telecom Architect, Telecoms Projects to support IDS team, PT&C Functions to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the business.


The position will act by the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.


Mandate QHSSE Obligations

  • Ensure compliance with the HSE Management System.
  • Monitor and report safety performance and compliance.
  • Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving Rules, Process Safety Rules) to perform tasks safely.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Operate maintain and develop FOC-based telecommunication transmission technologies (SDH, DWDM, MPLS-TP, IP Technologies)
  • Operate maintain and develop wireless technologies, telecommunication towers, microwave, and millimeter wave.
  • Operate maintain and develop Hotlines, support emergency calling infrastructure
  • Plan with ISP for data links, deployment FOC, and location path (Leased Lines P2P, Internet LL, PRI\BRI and MPLS)
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on FOC and telecom nodes.
  • Ensure availability of telecoms strategy, and business planning, ensure Maintaining and developing the telecommunications network.
  • Execute the operational maintenance in place and manage the contracting with service providers.
  • Design support for telecommunication systems as needed to ensure coordination, ensure alignment with projects and capacity management to support multiple projects, internal and external to ICT, including HSE\PTW management.
  • Responsible for enabling SCADA data carrier.
  • Support, maintain and develop the videoconferencing, IP Telephony and Unified Communications solutions.
  • Responsible for Telecom Asset Management
  • Manage Telecom Infrastructure Projects
  • NOC monitoring, emergency response, plan and execute network aggregation & optimization.

Working Conditions

Primarily office-based, occasional travel, and sporadic visits to the operation site.


Education requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.


Language

Preferable English and Arabic


Experience and background

From 6 to 8 years of experience in telecom infrastructure systems and infrastructure capacity planning.
