Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a permanent opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri.

The OR Registered Nurse provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment, supporting patient safety, clinical excellence, and optimal surgical outcomes. This role works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members throughout all phases of the surgical process.

The OR RN is responsible for patient assessment, preparation, intraoperative support, and post-procedure documentation while adhering to established surgical protocols, universal precautions, and evidence-based practices. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in high-acuity situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate patients prior to surgery and assess readiness for procedures

Provide patient and family education regarding the perioperative process

Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification

Participate in briefing, time-out, debriefing, and universal protocol processes per hospital policy

Recognize and respond to patient emergencies in the perioperative setting

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care using evidence-based practice

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams

Apply the nursing process, clinical judgment, and technical skills to ensure patient safety

Monitor patient status throughout the shift and document care accurately

Educate patients and caregivers on post-procedure care and follow-up needs

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Pay Range (based on experience):

$34.00/hour minimum

$48.00/hour maximum (18+ years of experience required for max)

Shift Differentials:

$4.00/hour for nights and weekends

Sign-On Bonus:

$20,000

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience with scrub and circulating experience required.
• Registered Nurse Diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
