Job Description

Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). Key Responsibilities • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database servers (11g/12c/19c). • Monitor and optimize database performance, tuning SQL queries, and managing indexes. • Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning using RMAN/Data Guard. • Implement database security policies, user access management, and auditing. • Manage database storage, partitions, tablespaces, and performance statistics. • Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Support development teams with database design, queries, and PL/SQL optimization. • Plan and execute database patches, upgrades, and migrations. • Maintain high availability and ensure business continuity. • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. • 5+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience. • Strong knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c/19c/21c architecture and administration. • Proficiency in RMAN, Data Guard, ASM, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager). • Solid experience with backup/recovery, performance tuning, and query optimization. • Hands-on expertise in PL/SQL development. • Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation. • Experience in handling production databases with high availability (RAC preferred). • Familiarity with cloud-hosted Oracle environments (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure). Good to Have (Optional) • Exposure to GoldenGate for replication. • Experience with Oracle Exadata. • Knowledge of NoSQL/Big Data integrations. • Certification (OCP / OCA) preferred. Soft Skills • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. • Strong commitment to deadlines and service-level agreements (SLAs).
