Oracle HRMS Functional Consultant

Job Title: Oracle HRMS functional consultant

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle HRMS EBS R12.2 Consultant with strong functional and techno functional expertise across Oracle E Business Suite HR modules. The consultant will be responsible for solution design, configuration, support, and continuous improvements within HR and Payroll processes in an Oracle R12.2 environment.

Functional Consulting & Solutioning

Lead requirement gathering workshops with HR, Payroll, Performance Management, Learning Management and business process owners to understand current processes and define future-state solutions.

Conduct comprehensive gap-fit analysis and propose Oracle native solutions, avoiding customizations wherever possible.

Design and configure end-to-end setups for:

  • Core HR (people management, elements, grades, jobs, locations, position hierarchy)
  • Payroll (payroll definitions, elements, formulas, balances, legal rules, costing)
  • Self Service HR (SSHR) (employee/manager actions, workflows, approvals)
  • Absence
  • Performance Management System (PMS)
  • Learning

Develop and validate Fast Formulas for Payroll, Absence, and custom logic requirements.

Design solutions for multi assignment, global HR, and multi business unit models.

Interpret and map statutory payroll requirements into configuration.

Collaborate with technical teams to design RICEW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows).

Define and validate EBS setups, conversions, and interfaces with upstream/downstream systems.

Ensure proper design of approval hierarchies, AME configurations, and workflow routing rules.

Participate in solution blueprinting, functional architecture discussions, and cross module integration workshops.

Draft and review BRD, MD050/MD070, configuration documents, testing strategy documents, and training materials.

Contribute to UAT planning, test script creation, scenario building, and defect management.

Ensure solutions align with Oracle best practices, R12.2 architecture, and patching/upgrade constraints.

Perform detailed impact assessments for Oracle released patches, security changes, or functional updates.

Provide expert inputs for data migration, including employee data, payroll balances, and HR structures.

Validate functional setups through SIT/UAT cycles and support production migration activities.

Provide domain expertise for process optimization, automation, compliance alignment, and digital HR transformation initiatives.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with internal quality, security, and audit standards.

Conduct user training, KT sessions, and create SOPs/user guides.

Collaboration & Cross Functional Coordination

Work with technical teams on RICEW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows).

Collaborate with payroll, HR operations, finance, and IT teams for integration points.

Liaison with Oracle Support for SR creation, tracking, and resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 10 to 20 years of hands on experience in Oracle EBS HRMS, specifically R12.2.

Strong functional knowledge of:

  • Core HR
  • Payroll
  • SSHR
  • Absence
  • PMS
  • Learning

Payroll core processes: run, prepayments, costing, GL transfer

Experience with Oracle EBS R12.2 upgrades, patching, and cutover activities.

Understanding of HR statutory and compliance requirements (country specific).

Expertise in SQL queries for functional validations.

Strong debugging skills and ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
