Oral Surgery Assistant

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, and biopsies
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and treatment rooms
• Monitor patients’ vital signs during procedures
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and instructions
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Manage inventory and order surgical supplies as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a dental assisting program preferred
• X-ray certification (as required by state regulations)
• CPR/BLS certification
• Previous experience in oral surgery or dental assisting strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
• Experience with sedation or anesthesia monitoring
• Familiarity with dental software systems
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
