Organizational Development (OD) Specialist ( Mid Level )

Job Summary

The Senior OD Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing organizational development initiatives that enhance performance, productivity, and employee engagement. The role plays a critical part in leading the company-wide performance management system, including KPI design, appraisal cycles, competency frameworks, and organizational effectiveness strategies within a fast-paced software house environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Management & Appraisals

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the company’s performance management framework.
  • Lead the annual and quarterly appraisal cycles across all departments (Technical & Non-Technical).
  • Develop structured appraisal tools aligned with business objectives.
  • Train managers on performance evaluation best practices.
  • Ensure fairness, consistency, and calibration across departments.
  • Analyze appraisal results and provide insights to leadership.

2. KPI Design & Alignment

  • Develop and cascade KPIs aligned with company strategy and OKRs.
  • Work closely with department heads (Engineering, Product, Sales, Operations, etc.) to define measurable KPIs.
  • Ensure KPIs are SMART and performance-driven.
  • Monitor KPI achievement and generate performance dashboards.
  • Conduct KPI review sessions and suggest improvement plans.

3. Organizational Development

  • Conduct organizational analysis to identify structure, competency, and capability gaps.
  • Design competency frameworks for technical and leadership roles.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Participate in workforce planning and organization restructuring when needed.
  • Lead employee engagement and culture enhancement initiatives.

4. Data & Reporting

  • Prepare performance analytics reports for senior management.
  • Identify performance trends and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure HR systems (HRIS / performance platforms) are optimized and updated.

5. Policy & Governance

  • Develop and update performance management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and labor regulations.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • 2:4+ years of experience in Organizational Development and Performance Management.
  • Experience in a Software House / Tech Company is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in KPI development and appraisal systems.
  • Professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, KPI Institute, or equivalent) is a plus.
