Job Summary

Do you bring a strong foundation in instructional design and a passion for adults learning? Are you eager to shape how organizations change and evolve? We are seeking an experienced Organizational Development Specialist to lead the “people side” of our major ERP software migration. This pivotal role will assist with designing and executing the comprehensive change management strategy, including detailed stakeholder analysis, communication planning and delivery, and end-user training surrounding processes and technology.

In this role, you'll collaborate with business process owners and the Organizational Development Manager to craft clear, effective messaging for change initiatives that promote user adoption. Additionally, you will support end-user learning by developing training materials using innovative technology that resonates across diverse audiences. This position is eligible for hybrid in-office/telework based on work needs. Applicant must reside or be willing to relocate to Travis County or the surrounding area. Travis County does not reimburse relocation expenses

Position Summary

This position works closely with the Organizational Development Manager and business process owners to create communication for change initiatives, document end-user support processes, and organize new changes and information into digestible chunks. The OD Specialist will assist in developing and maintaining training materials, including course content for both in-person and online learning environments.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and review of documentation related to organizational learning and change initiatives.
  • Create and review communication materials related to change initiatives and provide feedback on key messaging and approach.
  • Provide guidance to employees during training to reinforce key concepts and clarify information for stakeholders.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop basic training and instructional materials for online and instructor-led sessions to ensure organizational learning and change initiatives.
  • Analyze, evaluate, prepare, and deliver basic training curriculum to ensure organizational objectives.
  • Communicate and collaborate across County departments and the Office to support organizational development initiatives.
  • Develop engaging learning materials by using the latest advancements in eLearning technology.

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring

  • A strong understanding of instructional design principles.
  • Proven experience in creating accessible and inclusive training materials that appeal to multiple learning styles.
  • Proficiency in communicating complex information in a concise and accessible manner.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to create instructional materials in Canva, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Articulate, and ability learn new software as needed
  • A knowledge of adult learning theories and methods
  • A familiarity with the stages of a project lifecycle

What you will need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in education, business, instructional design or other related field from a four-year accredited university
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience training or teaching adult learners
