Salary Range: $70,000 - $72,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

    Job Summary

    The Organizational Development Specialist provides planning and execution of organizational development programs and initiatives and established training programs to meet organizational development goals. This position monitors employee development and training programs, assesses needs and results, develops new programs and modifies existing programs.

    Core Responsibilities
    • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing assigned training and development programs that enhance individual learning and meet the needs of various departmental productivity improvement endeavors.
    • Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content for faculty, staff, and student-employee training programs.
    • Works with subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments/instructional analysis to ensure conformity with customer objectives and develop training plans as needed.
    • Evaluates individual and organizational training and development needs.
    • Implements various learning methods for Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees (e.g. classroom and online training).
    • Designs and delivers e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings.
    • Facilitates professional development training, exercises and activities that enhance the learning, development and team building process.
    • Identifies and makes recommendations for updates/upgrades to current training content, delivery methods and technology to keep programs current and up to date.
    • Develops methods of measuring training impact to performance management as it aligns with organizational goals.
    • Reviews Subject Matter Expert's (SME) instructional materials for various training and development programs to ensure each program adheres to training standards and best methods.
    • Recommends and implements practical courses and strategies to improve performance, based on Training and Development strategies, research and validation.
    • Develops and applies a structured change management approach and methodology.
    • Works collaboratively with division leaders on a change management plan and other change management deliverables based on awareness of the details of change and the groups impacted.
    • Evaluates classes from vendors and build a learning taxonomy based on gaps in skills, knowledge and competencies.
    • Assists with the implementation of talent management programs, including high potential development programs, succession planning and management processes, performance management processes, and talent development solutions.
    • Assists with and promotes change management initiatives that impact the university.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
    • Five (5) years of experience in talent development or organization development designing, facilitating, and/or managing learning programs at the leadership and program level or other related experience.
    • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

    Working Conditions
    • Office and classroom environment. Online course facilitation. Must drive to multiple campuses using departmental or personal vehicle. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

    Physical Demands
    • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

    This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.

    This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
