Orthodontic Assistant

We are seeking either a Part/Full Time Orthodontic Assistant to join our team and work closely with our Orthodontist and Pediatric team.

Job Responsibility:
The Orthodontic Assistant provides support to the office and is responsible for assisting the Orthodontist with patients. Adapts to each individual and provides excellent chair side manner. This support is crucial to the delivery of the Company’s mission of helping children achieve a lifetime of great oral health.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prior to the appointment, reviews each patient’s chart to be fully prepared for the patient visit. Gets ready all necessary cassettes, hand pieces, materials, and instruments the Orthodontist to use chairside.
• Prior to treatment, reviews the patient’s chart, medical history and treatment plan and consent forms to identify any potential concerns for the Orthodontist to consider.
• Assist Orthodontist with orthodontic treatment in accordance with the delegable duties allowable by the state.
• Delivers quality and compassionate care to every patient.
• Accurately charts and documents all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
• Schedules patients as needed and/or based on the specific office’s flow.
• Educates patients on the oral healthcare of braces and their appliances.
• Takes diagnostic x-rays and photos and displays those as needed.
• Takes impressions, pours and fabricates stints and study models.
• Stocks drawers, cleans, and sets up/breaks down patient chairs daily.
• Communicates with parents/patients at the end of each visit to address concerns and answers treatment questions.
• Follows all administrative procedures and policies to ensure consistent standards.
• Attends and participates in all office meetings, continuing education events and daily huddles.
• Based on patient flow, assists other Orthodontic Assistants and Sterilization Technician.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year Orthodontic assisting experience.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Experience working in a professional, medical, or dental environment with direct customer service is desired.
• Certifications vary by state: Radiology, Certified Orthodontic Assistant, Expanded Duties, etc.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
