Orthodontic Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow in the clinic.
• Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Stay updated on advancements in orthodontic techniques and technologies.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures, particularly in orthodontics.
• Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is a plus.
• Understanding of infection control protocols within a dental clinic setting.
• Ability to perform medical imaging tasks when required.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
• A commitment to providing excellent patient care in a pediatric dentistry environment is highly desirable.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
