Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to assist effectively in various orthodontic tasks.

Duties

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
• Take impressions and utilize 3D scanners for accurate orthodontic assessments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Epic systems and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in various specialties, including pediatrics and endodontics.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques and familiarity with dental terminology.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and best practices in a clinical setting.
• Experience with 3D scanning technology is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
