Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice.

3 days a week 1pm to 6 pm, Every other Saturdays.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting orthodontists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including placing and removing braces and other orthodontic appliances.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays and 3D scans, to assist in treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide reassurance as needed.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Stay updated on the latest orthodontic techniques and technologies.

Experience

• Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with specific knowledge in orthodontics being a plus.
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures.
• Ability to operate 3D scanners and other dental technology effectively.
• Knowledge of maintaining medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines is essential.
