Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, as well as experience with various dental systems and techniques. The Orthodontic Assistant will work closely with orthodontists to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and treatments, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the care of orthodontic appliances.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with clinic protocols.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and processing insurance claims using Dentrix or similar systems.
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as Prosthodontics, Pediatric dentistry, Endodontics, and more.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of various dental specialties including Prosthodontics, Pediatric dentistry, Endodontics, and Aseptic technique is desirable.
  • Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Mandarin-speaking preferred to better serve our patient community.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
