Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will assist the orthodontist in various tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.

Duties

  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take X-rays, as well as perform dental imaging when necessary.
  • Utilize Orthodontic patient management software for patient documentation and record management.
  • Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care related to orthodontic appliances.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, leveraging dental receptionist skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
  • Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic imaging and treatment planning.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an Orthodontic dental clinic setting is preferred, with a strong background in Orthodontic dental assisting.
  • Familiarity with dental documentation, dental coding, and dental terminology is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high quality, patients centered environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
