Duties
- Assist orthodontists during patient examinations, procedures, and adjustments with precision and efficiency
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques
- Take dental X-rays,ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems)in Tops, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and proper anatomy knowledge for safe practice
- Use dental terminology accurately to communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones inquiries as a dental receptionist as needed, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially within pediatric or orthodontic settings
- Proficiency with EMR systems is essential for efficient record management
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices ensures compliance with privacy standards
- Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanners, is advantageous
- Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques in orthodontics enhances workflow efficiency
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is required
