Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our vibrant Orthodontic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional orthodontic care by providing chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within an established, private orthodontic practice. Duties

  • Assist orthodontists during patient examinations, procedures, and adjustments with precision and efficiency
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques
  • Take dental X-rays,ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems)in Tops, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and proper anatomy knowledge for safe practice
  • Use dental terminology accurately to communicate effectively with team members and patients
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones inquiries as a dental receptionist as needed, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially within pediatric or orthodontic settings
  • Proficiency with EMR systems is essential for efficient record management
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices ensures compliance with privacy standards
  • Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanners, is advantageous
  • Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques in orthodontics enhances workflow efficiency
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
