Duties
- Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring an aseptic environment following infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays and 3D scans to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records efficiently within EMR systems such as cloud9, ensuring HIPAA compliance for all medical documentation.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of pediatric and adult patients to ensure safety during procedures.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology accurately and supporting procedures across orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Serve as a dental receptionist when needed by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing medical records with precision.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Cloud 9 for managing electronic health records.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology.
- Skilled in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with pediatrics-specific procedures confidently.
- Familiarity with EMR documentation systems is a plus for comprehensive record management.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist, combined with team-oriented attitude for four-handed dentistry support.
