The Orthodontist is responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and correcting misaligned teeth and jaws to enhance both function and aesthetics. The role involves providing orthodontic assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and using fixed and removable appliances to deliver optimal results in accordance with DHA regulations and clinic policies.


Responsibilities -


Clinical Responsibilities

  • Examine patients to assess dental and facial irregularities.
  • Diagnose malocclusions and design personalized orthodontic treatment plans.
  • Provide orthodontic treatment using braces, aligners (e.g., Invisalign), retainers, and other corrective appliances.
  • Conduct cephalometric analyses, X-rays, and dental impressions.
  • Monitor patient progress, make necessary adjustments, and ensure desired treatment outcomes.
  • Educate patients on proper appliance care and oral hygiene during treatment.
  • Manage complex orthodontic cases in coordination with other dental specialists (e.g., oral surgeons, prosthodontists).
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation as per DHA standards.


Patient Care & Communication

  • Explain treatment options, timelines, and costs clearly to patients and families.
  • Build strong patient relationships based on trust, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Address patient questions or concerns regarding procedures or outcomes.
  • Promote preventive care and regular follow-up visits.


Clinical Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Supervise orthodontic assistants and guide them in patient preparation and appliance adjustments.
  • Keep abreast of new orthodontic techniques, appliances, and technologies.
  • Contribute to the clinic’s quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.


Job Specifications -


  • Educational Qualifications - Master’s Degree (MDS / MSc / Specialty Certificate) in Orthodontics from a recognized university.
  • In-depth knowledge of orthodontic appliances, biomechanics, and modern treatment modalities. Experience with clear aligner systems (e.g., Invisalign, Clear Correct) is highly preferred. Proficiency in digital dentistry tools (3D scanners, orthodontic software, cephalometric tracing).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must comply with DHA and UAE healthcare regulations.
  • Arabic Language is preferred
