Position Summary
An Orthopedic Physician with CFG provides comprehensive musculoskeletal care, encompassing diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment of injuries and disorders of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles within correctional healthcare settings. Responsibilities include patient consultations, physical examinations, performing surgeries, prescribing treatments, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and managing orthopedic trauma care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:

Conducting thorough physical examinations and evaluating medical histories.

Diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions using imaging studies (X-rays, MRI, CT scans).

Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, which may include medication, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.

Performing necessary orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements, fracture fixation, and arthroscopic procedures.

Managing orthopedic trauma, including injuries from accidents or violence.
Collaboration & Consultation:

Working closely with nurses, physical therapists, radiologists, and other specialists.

Consulting with correctional facility staff on patient care.

Administrative Duties:

Maintaining accurate and thorough patient records.

Participating in quality control, risk management, and peer review processes.

Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies.
On-Call & Education:

Participating in on-call schedules to provide timely care for urgent needs.

Educating patients and their families about their conditions and preventive care.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

Completion of an Orthopedic Surgery residency.

Current medical license and board certification (or eligibility).
