OSHA 510 Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and electrical safety regulations

  • Conduct job site safety inspections focused on electrical hazards, including:

    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

    • Arc flash and shock protection

    • PPE compliance

    • Ladder, lift, and fall protection safety

  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and recommend corrective actions

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures for electrical work

  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and job-specific safety training

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; complete reports and corrective action plans

  • Maintain OSHA logs, training records, and safety documentation

  • Support project managers and foremen with job hazard analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning

  • Act as the company liaison during OSHA inspections or regulatory inquiries

  • Promote a proactive safety-first culture across all job sites

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 510 certification (Construction Industry)

  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably with an electrical contractor

  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, including:

    • NFPA 70E

    • Lockout/Tagout procedures

    • Arc flash and shock risk assessment

  • Experience conducting job site audits and safety training

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews

  • Ability to travel to multiple job sites as required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar safety credential

  • Electrical trade background or experience working closely with electricians

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
