Job Summary

The OT Assistant supports surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff by ensuring the operation theatre is prepared, sterile, and well-equipped before, during, and after procedures. The role is critical for IVF procedures, minor surgeries, and patient safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesOT Preparation & Sterilization

• Prepare OT for procedures (IVF, OPU, ET, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, minor OT)
• Ensure OT cleaning, fumigation, and sterility protocols are followed
• Arrange instruments, trolleys, linen, and consumables

Assistance During Procedures

• Assist doctors and OT nurses during procedures
• Handle instruments carefully and pass items as required
• Maintain aseptic environment throughout the procedure

Post-Procedure Responsibilities

• Assist in patient shifting to recovery area
• Clean, segregate, and send instruments for sterilization
• Prepare OT for the next case

Equipment & Inventory Support

• Check OT equipment (suction, cautery, monitors, lights)
• Inform OT In-charge of faults, shortages, or damages
• Maintain OT consumables stock and expiry checks

Compliance & Safety

• Follow ART Act, NABH, infection control, and biomedical waste rules
• Use PPE and maintain OT discipline at all times

Required Skills & Qualifications

• OT Assistant / OT Technician course preferred
• 12th pass with OT experience may be considered
• Knowledge of sterilization, OT instruments, and infection control
• Physically fit and able to work in OT environment
• Calm, disciplined, and team-oriented attitude

Experience

• 1–4 years in hospital / IVF / surgical OT preferred
• Freshers with OT training may be considered

Working Hours

• As per OT schedule
• Emergency / procedure-based duties as required
