Role Overview

The OT Scrub Nurse supports surgeons and the operating theatre team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile conditions, and assisting throughout surgical procedures. The role requires precision, discipline, and strong clinical competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre with required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Assist surgeons during procedures as the primary scrub nurse
• Maintain strict aseptic and infection‑control protocols
• Perform instrument counts before, during, and after surgery
• Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments
• Coordinate with the OT team for smooth workflow and timely case preparation
• Support pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care as needed
• Maintain accurate OT documentation and reports

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma in Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing with valid nursing registration
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OT Scrub Nurse
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures, OT protocols, and sterilization techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient‑care skills
• High attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
