OT Staff Nurse – Job Description

Position: OT Staff Nurse
Department: Operation Theatre
Qualification: GNM / B.Sc Nursing
Experience: Minimum 3–4 years (as per hospital requirement)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures.
• Prepare the OT before surgery—sterilization, equipment setup, and instrument checks.
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and infection-control protocols.
• Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Monitor patient vitals and condition in the OT and recovery room.
• Coordinate with the surgical team for smooth workflow and timely surgeries.
• Handle emergency OT procedures when required.
• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per guidelines.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of OT protocols and surgical procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and in critical situations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and responsibility.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment handling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹45,099.91 per month
