An Operating Theatre (OT) Technician prepares and maintains the surgical suite, ensuring a sterile environment, sterilizing equipment, and assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures. Key duties include prepping the OR, managing instruments, monitoring patient vitals, and ensuring safety protocols. They are crucial for smooth operation workflows. Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative Prep: Sterilize the operating room, set up, and test equipment (e.g., lights, machines) according to surgical needs.
  • Intra-operative Assistance: Pass instruments, handle supplies, maintain a sterile field, and assist with patient positioning.
  • Post-operative Care: Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room; sterilize instruments for future use.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain, or arrange repairs for, surgical equipment.
  • Patient Support: Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of procedures, inventory, and, if required, the narcotics register.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Diploma or Certificate in Operating Theatre Technology or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control.
  • Skills: High attention to detail, ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Attributes: Strong communication, teamwork, and physical stamina.

Work Environment
OT Technicians work in hospitals or surgical centers, often working in shifts, including weekends and, on occasion, early morning procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
