Job Description – OTM Functional Consultant (7+ Years Experience)

Experience: 7+ Years


Role Summary


We are seeking an experienced Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) Functional Consultant with strong expertise in implementing, configuring, and supporting OTM solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of OTM modules, transportation processes, and end-to-end logistics flows, along with strong client-facing and requirement-gathering skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. OTM Implementation & Configuration

  • Implement and configure OTM modules including Order Management, Shipment Planning & Execution, Fleet Management, Freight Payment, and Rate Management.
  • Set up OTM master data, agents, workflows, automation rules, and domain structures.
  • Configure Order Release, Shipment, Rates, Constraints, Itineraries, and Planning Parameters.

2. Functional Consulting

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable OTM configurations and documentation.
  • Design functional solutions for transportation planning, optimization, freight settlement, tendering, and tracking.
  • Support integrations with ERP systems (Oracle EBS/Fusion), WMS, and 3rd-party systems.

3. Testing & Deployment

  • Prepare test scenarios and execute Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT for OTM enhancements and new implementations.
  • Work closely with technical teams to validate integrations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth deployments.
  • Support go-live activities and post-production stabilization.

4. Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide functional support for OTM processes including planning, execution, carrier communication, and invoicing.
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to OTM configurations, workflows, planning logic, and business rules.

5. Documentation & Communication

  • Create BRD, FRD, MD50, configuration documents, and user training materials.
  • Conduct user training and lead workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of hands-on functional experience in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).
  • Strong understanding of logistics, transportation processes, and supply chain flows.
  • Experience in end-to-end OTM implementation (at least 2–3 full lifecycle projects preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Order Release, Shipment Planning
    • Rate Management & Contracts
    • Automation Agents
    • Itineraries & Network Configuration
    • Freight Settlement & Billing
  • Experience working with OTM APIs, integration flows (SOA, REST), and data migration.
  • Ability to analyze, document, and present business process designs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
