Outbound Sales Representative

About the opportunity

Sjogren Industries is looking for an early career sales representative who wants to build a career in B2B sales, learn a real manufacturing business, and help create measurable growth.

This is not a customer service role. This is not an order taking role. This is an outbound sales role for someone who is competitive, coachable, persistent, and ready to make calls, send emails, open doors, and turn activity into new business.

The right person may be early in their career, recently out of school, or coming from a competitive background where effort, discipline, and follow through matter. Former college athletes, team captains, and people who have competed at a high level are encouraged to apply.

Why this role matters

Sjogren has been in business for more than 95 years and has a strong reputation in the wire and cable industry. We manufacture high quality precision tooling, wire straighteners, puller assemblies, and related equipment used by manufacturers across a wide range of markets.

We have strong products, experienced internal support, and a large amount of untapped market opportunity. What we need now is someone who wants to help us go find that opportunity.

You will be part of building and scaling our outbound sales program. That means identifying target accounts, reaching out to prospects, reengaging past customers, and creating new sales opportunities that turn into orders.

What you will do

You will prospect target accounts by phone, email, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels.

You will research companies that use wire, cable, tubing, strip, or related materials in their production processes.

You will create and manage target lists of manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, and potential strategic accounts.

You will reach decision makers, introduce Sjogren, identify needs, and create opportunities for quotes.

You will reengage existing and past customers to uncover new orders, new locations, new contacts, and new product opportunities.

You will work closely with our internal team, who will support product knowledge, quoting, technical questions, and order processing.

You will maintain clear notes, follow up activity, and opportunity tracking in Global Shop Solutions, our ERP and CRM system.

You will test different outreach approaches, learn what works, and improve the outbound process over time.

What success looks like

Success in this role will be measured by outbound activity, quality conversations, opportunities created, and orders that result from your efforts.

Key measures include:

Qualified outbound conversations

New customer opportunities created

Requests for quote generated

Orders from new customers

Orders from existing or past customers that you helped reactivate or expand

Consistent CRM activity and follow up discipline

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is hungry, competitive, and willing to do the work required to become successful in sales.

You may be a strong fit if you are:

Early in your career and looking for a serious sales opportunity

Competitive and motivated by measurable results

Comfortable making outbound calls and handling rejection

Persistent without being pushy

Curious and willing to learn a technical product line

A strong communicator in writing and over the phone

Organized enough to manage follow up without letting opportunities slip

Comfortable working in an office with a hands on team

Willing to use AI tools to improve research, targeting, messaging, and follow up while keeping accuracy and professionalism high

Prior sales experience is helpful, but not required. We care more about drive, coachability, communication skills, and follow through.

Compensation

Base salary: $60,000

Performance bonus: Up to $20,000 annually, paid quarterly based on results

Schedule and travel

This is an in office role based in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Travel is minimal.
