What’s the job? To coordinate the functions and activities of the outlet with the outlet's employees in the absence of Manager. To assist in overseeing and directing all aspects of the outlet under the general guidance and direction of the Manager, or his/her delegate and within the limits of the established Best Plaza policies and procedures.
Your day-to-day
· Ensure the smooth running of the outlet to ensure highest guest satisfaction
· Supervise waiters assigned to that particular outlet.
· Responsible for order- taking, presentation and all aspects of service in that outlet.
· Serve customers according to the set standards, by taking their orders, collecting and serving.
· Promote all menu items and special promotions.
· Ensure all opening and closing duties are followed according to the checklist.
· Responsible for the waiters assigned.
· Assist in implementing and controlling the control mechanism by:
o Using all Best Plaza standards in F&B control.
o Observing and spot-checking on the outlet
o Using proper control procedures, by ensuring that food and drinks are properly accounted for.
o Ensure that daily summary reports are made and any irregularities are reported to the Food & Beverage Management
· Ensure that all billings are correct
· Ensure that effective communication is carried out with all employees, while keeping an effective communication with your superior.
· Ensure that all-vital communication is recorded in written form.
· Plan the day-to-day routine works efficiently to ensure maximum service delivery in accordance to the hotel standard.
· Ensure that the monthly one to one meeting with the Manager is kept and that all documentation is up to date.
· Establish and follow personal development plan.
· Conduct continuous job performance evaluation of the staff in the outlet.
· To formulate training needs and prepare training plans for the staff and train them when possible.
· Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time
What we need from you
· Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
· Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories
· Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computers
· Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
· You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
· Experience - ideally you’ll have spent at least one year in a food & beverage or guest service position
· Strength - sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling
