We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Child Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The therapist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating children and adolescents with a range of mental health issues. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young populations, strong clinical skills, and a passion for helping children thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health needs of children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address various emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Educate and support families on mental health issues, treatment options, and strategies to assist their child.
- Participate in case consultations, supervision, and professional development activities.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents.
- Strong understanding of child development and psychopathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with children and their families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific therapeutic modalities such as Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
- Certification in specialized areas (e.g., trauma-informed care, autism spectrum disorders).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.80 - $110.00 per hour
