Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

The Mental Health Outpatient PRN Therapist facilitates quality, evidence-based treatment groups for adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders on an as needed basis, varying on departmental needs. The Group Therapist is responsible for maintaining accurate patient documentation in the medical record, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients, working in conjunction with members of an interdisciplinary team, communicating with family members, referral sources and community partners, and assisting patients’ with coordinating their discharge plans. Additional clinical tasks include patient risk assessment and safety planning/risk mitigation, as indicated, and the administration of clinical assessment tools to monitor patients’ progress in treatment. A Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Marriage & Family Therapy Required; Licensure Preferred.

This position will facilitate Adult and Young Adult Mental Illness Groups, which run weekly Monday – Friday at various times (mornings & evening group options) and hours are dependent on department needs/coverage support. Specific days vary based on department coverage needs, that are open to flexibility based on applicant and facility needs. The remaining hours will be used for documentation, program planning and additional responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Marriage & Family Therapy. Required
  • Prior experience providing therapeutic interventions for the psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient or group setting.
  • Provisional licensure in respective field (e.g. SWC, LPCC, MFTC) required or applicant can demonstrate that the process to obtain this is underway. LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred.
  • Knowledge of group and individual therapy interventions and modalities, risk assessment and crisis/behavior management, mental health disorders and associated treatment, discharge planning and patient case management preferred or ability to learn.
