Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. One year of experience in library, outreach, public relations, or customer service is required. Additional experience in library, outreach, public relations, or customer service may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.

The incumbent will lead the operational success of the Mobile Library Services Unit, which includes multiple Bookmobiles and Techmobile, ensuring quality service delivery through strategic planning, effective route planning, and scheduling. In this role, the incumbent provides essential field leadership by coordinating daily outreach operations, proactively managing schedules, and executing Mobile Library Services routes. These responsibilities include prioritizing effective service delivery at both regular stops and special events. Additionally, duties include coordinating the daily operational activities of the Mobile Library Services Unit, including developing comprehensive weekly and monthly schedules and proactively managing route logistics. Serve as the designated Person-in-Charge during field operations, spending a significant portion of the workweek on-site to monitor service quality and ensure adherence to institutional standards. Design, implement, and evaluate educational programming tailored to diverse audiences at various community locations, ensuring alignment with systemwide goals and campaigns. Systematically collect and analyze statistical data to evaluate route effectiveness; prepare formal reports, including incident documentation and operational metrics, for departmental review. Additionally, provide professional customer service at various library access points; lead execution of specialized outreach initiatives and systemwide programs; and utilize Microsoft Excel and web-based applications for data tracking and logistical coordination. The incumbent may complete route assignments and deliveries by operating the cargo van or 24-foot Sprinter Bookmobile, and assume delegated leadership responsibilities in the absence of the departmental manager to ensure continuity of operations. Work hours may vary and may include mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on staffing and outreach needs. The incumbent may also work outdoors at community events.
