Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across extensive routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity.
• Transport a variety of freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized trailers.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
• Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing delivery schedules and communicating proactively with dispatch teams.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo details to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel for seamless load & unload operations at various facilities along your route.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmissions is essential.
• Experience operating Dry Vans
• Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures, including load securing and cargo safety protocols.
• Ability to drive long distances safely while managing fatigue and maintaining focus on the road.
• Skilled in route planning and navigation to optimize delivery times across diverse geographic areas.
