Job Description: Financial Fleet Analyst
Position Overview
The Financial Fleet Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing the financial performance of the company’s fleet operations. This role works closely with fleet management, finance, and operations teams to evaluate costs, forecast expenses, and provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The analyst ensures that fleet operations remain cost-efficient, compliant, and aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze fleet expenses including fuel, maintenance, leasing, depreciation, insurance, and compliance-related costs.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fleet financial reports with variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain cost models, dashboards, and KPIs to track fleet utilization and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Partner with fleet managers to evaluate vendor contracts, leasing terms, and procurement opportunities to drive cost savings.
  • Forecast fleet budgets and provide input into long-term financial planning and strategy.
  • Identify and investigate financial discrepancies or irregularities in fleet data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct lifecycle analysis to determine optimal replacement schedules and investment strategies.
  • Support audit and compliance efforts by maintaining accurate financial and operational records.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to align financial insights with day-to-day fleet performance.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance fleet ROI.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional certification is a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or asset-heavy industries.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial systems, and fleet management software.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to present complex data in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across departments.
