Overnight Commercial Box Truck Driver (CLEAN DRIVING RECORD REQUIRED)

We are seeking a safety-focused, professional, and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our operations team in Augusta, GA. In this role, you will operate a 26-ft box truck equipped with airbrakes for local and regional deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

Transport & Delivery

• Safely operate a 26-ft commercial box truck with airbrakes for local and regional deliveries.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
• Load and unload cargo, securing all freight to prevent damage.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection

• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance and vehicle safety.
• Promptly report any mechanical concerns or maintenance needs to management.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle.

Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to all DOT, state, and federal regulations governing commercial driving.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and DOT physical certifications.
• Consistently follow company safety protocols and use required safety equipment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete accurate delivery logs, trip reports, and required paperwork.
• Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations.
• Immediately report accidents, violations, or delays to management.

Customer Service & Teamwork

• Provide professional, courteous service during every delivery.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other drivers.
• Assist with loading/unloading and operational support as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience operating vehicles with airbrakes.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Familiarity with electronic manifests via smartphone.
• Trucking or warehouse experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Licensing & Driving Record

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
• Clean driving record – applicants with at-fault accidents or speeding citations within the past 5 years will not be considered.
• A recent 5- or 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) must be submitted with your resume. Applications without an MVR will not be reviewed.

Education & Compliance

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass background check, DOT drug screening, and DOT physical.

Job Type & Schedule

• Contract / Full-time
• Overnight shifts required, including weekends.
• Saturday through Friday availability required.
