Overnight Postpartum Care Provider (Night Nurse / Newborn Specialist)

Location: Montclair, NJ (In-Home)

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Temporary)

Schedule: 5 to 7 nights per week (approx. 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Overnight Postpartum Care Provider (Night Nurse or Newborn Care Specialist) to support our family during the "fourth trimester." The primary goal is to ensure the newborn is well-cared for overnight while assisting the parents in getting the rest they need to function during the day.

The ideal candidate has a calming presence, extensive experience with infant sleep patterns, and a deep understanding of postpartum recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Newborn Care: Bottle feeding (or bringing the baby to mom for nursing), burping, changing diapers, and soothing the baby back to sleep.
• Sleep Support: Implementing healthy sleep hygiene practices and monitoring infant sleep safety.
• Logistics: Washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts used during the shift.
• Monitoring: Observing the baby’s health, feeding intake, and developmental milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a Night Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist, or Postpartum Doula.
• Certification: Postpartum Doula certification is highly preferred.
• Skills: Expertise in newborn soothing techniques, breastfeeding support, and infant safety (SIDS prevention).
• Credentials: Must be CPR/First Aid certified (infant-specific).
• Requirements: Must have reliable transportation to Montclair, NJ, and glowing references from previous families.
