Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the PACE Program Senior Director and in conjunction with the PACE Center Managers, the PACE Day Center Assistant Manager is responsible for a wide range of disciplines and services provided in the PACE Alternative Care Settings (ACS). The PACE ACS Day Center Assistant Manager is responsible for all administrative oversight related to operation and serves as the liaison between direct care staff and administration.
Essential Functions of the Job:- Hire, supervise, lead and coordinate the PACE ACS staff to include Kitchen, CNA, clerical staff, etc. Depending on services rendered at specific ACS sites, may need to coordinate and collaborate with clinical leadership for oversight of clinical staff (i.e. Nursing).
- Ensure the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of employees; maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Communicate job expectations with employees to achieve results; manages employee performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplining and conducts all performance evaluations for the nursing team; prepare work schedules and ensure employees have necessary resources to succeed.
- Coordination of all-day center activities including overseeing staff in the implementation of care plans and documentation.
- In collaboration with PACE Center Managers and Food Services Supervisor the PACE Center Assistant Manager coordinates services and activities offered in the day center and ensures we are meeting state regulations and appropriate staffing ratios. Ensures staff are assigned to carry out CACFP duties to include meal delivery and meal counts.
- Oversee the quality of care and safety of PACE participants, at the PACE ACS.
- Serves as a liaison between disciplines, administration, and direct staff.
- Coordinate with PACE marketing department to promote PACE services in the community and hold tours for new candidates at the PACE center.
- Ensures the execution, maintenance and coordination of subcontracted services.
- Coordinate all activities related to new participants.
- Manage and work within the PACE Day Center budget and regularly communicate with the finance department on the Center’s operations and needs.
- Proactively engage with PACE Administration to further program development, including participation in working committees and project development/implementation.
- Be proficient in and become a super user of PACE Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and in collaboration with the IT Department, ensure the initial staff training and on-going proficiency on and appropriate use of PACE EHR.
- Review monthly operation expenses to assure budgetary compliance and to identify any budget variations as appropriate.
- Participate in budget planning process and review.
- Responsible to ensure compliance in all areas of program operations and to prepare the necessary Corrective Action Plan (CAP) as needed in a timely process. (CMS; DHCS, Clinic; Dept. Of Education; DHCS, Office of Long Term Care)
- Responsible to investigate, monitor, and track all PACE participant grievances and incidents to ensure prompt resolution to their issues.

Job Requirements:Education Required:- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Education Preferred:- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in health related or social service field
Certifications/Licenses Required:- CA valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proof of current vehicle insurance (if applicable)
Experience Required:- Minimum of 3-5 years of health care related supervisory, management or leadership experience.
Experience Preferred:- Clinical or health related experience
- Experience with a PACE Program or adult day health center setting
- One year caring for seniors or elderly in an assisted living program, nursing home that provides services to disabled or elderly adults.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:- Must possess the skills necessary to provide care for geriatric patients, must thrive in team environment, must possess good organizational and supervisory skills, ability to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.
- Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by SYHC PACE and approved by CMS.
