Overview
Job Overview: The Packaging Specialist position is a full time role based at a factory. It is expected from this role to be the most technically knowledgeable person on site concerning her or his field of expertise (Packaging). The core function of the role is to assist the business in delivering its plan through leading the packaging technical agenda with the plant stakeholders to deliver productivity objectives, support commissioning and start up for new products or machines, build technical capability, govern site IPS compliance and achieve KPI targets. The Specialist has no direct reports, however the role comes with a duty to coach and mentor Packaging SETs. The Specialist is required to lead and steer site based projects, many of which will require the utilization of SET resources.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the Packaging operations at the site; assist in the management, coordination and prioritization of daily SET work duties.
- Provide technical support to factory management in effectively running the Packaging operation; troubleshoot, solve and rectify technical problems; function as the resident expert.
- Act as the communication link between site and BUET (MOS); manage and support all site based projects, including new machine installations, factory expansions and new product launches.
- Support the development of others through SET Schools, CDAPs, competency assessments, training and development plans; develop the site Packaging SET pipeline.
- Complete and report on Site IPS audits; participate in sector/BU led IPS audit activities; ensure continuous governance and health check on site compliance with IPS standards; lead and support the Packaging qualification process and implement CQV protocol for new launches and innovations.
- Develop and execute packaging related productivity initiatives, including digitalization and smart manufacturing; participate in BU/sector led programs such as Starfleet interventions, cross audits and deep dives.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics majors preferred)
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal communication)
