Paid Social Media Specialist

Teacher’s Discovery is seeking a Social Media Specialist to lead and grow marketing efforts across our World Language division, including Voces Digital, Flangoo, and our classroom resources for Spanish, French, and German.

Teacher’s Discovery is looking for a creative, strategic, and technically knowledgeable Social Media Specialist to help grow our presence in the World Language education market. This is not simply a “posting content” role. We already have strong ideas, a deep understanding of teachers and classrooms, and talented designers and content creators writing and creating compelling visuals and copy.

What we need is someone who understands the mechanics and strategy behind social media marketing:

• what to post
• where to post it
• when to post it
• and how to measure whether it’s actually working.

We are looking for someone who understands how different platforms function, how audiences behave on those platforms, and how content can drive engagement, audience, growth, lead generation, and ultimately sales.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative side of social media and the analytical/strategic side.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute social media content across platforms including: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and possibly others
• Develop platform-specific strategies and content approaches
• Analyze metrics and performance data to improve results
• Grow audience engagement and follower counts
• Help generate leads and support sales initiatives through social content
• Create and manage content calendars
• Write engaging captions, hooks, and calls to action
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and educators
• Help translate classroom ideas and products into compelling social content
• Stay current on platform trends, algorithms, and best practices

Required Skills

• Experience managing or growing social media accounts
• Strong understanding of how different social platforms work and what content performs well on each
• Ability to interpret analytics and make strategic adjustments
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects

Preferred Skills

• Experience in education or EdTech
• Familiarity with World Language classrooms
• Experience creating video/reel content
• Canva and/or video editing experience
• Understanding of teacher audiences and education marketing

Huge Plus

• Teaching experience
• Familiarity with Comprehensible Input (CI) / Acquisition-Driven Instruction (ADI)

Schedule and Location

• Monday–Friday, full-time (some weekends and evenings for special events)
• In-person in Auburn Hills, MI (preferred, with some flexibility for remote)

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
